May 9th, Right to Life Breakfast, Aquinas College, Grand Rapids
Attorney General for the State of Michigan, Bill Schuette, accepts a gift of an art piece from Patrick Keeley and Carla Ludwig that was on display at 144 Fulton during the 2011 campaign (created by a student from CC, GR)
April 20, HHS Freedom of Religion support rally, DVD uses ArtPeace art
The Freedom of Religion Rally DVD from March 23, 2012 will feature the "cross" from the ArtPeace Project.
April 14th, Ultrasound fundraiser, Sacred Heart Church, Muskegon Heights
Approximately 200 pro life citizens from the Lakeshore area enjoyed the "Celebration of Life" dinner and fundraiser to collect the final $12,000 that was raised for an ultrasound machine for the pregnancy resource center near the abortion clinic. Nurse Kathy Monroe reported of the first 38 abortion minded ultrasound clients, 36 agreed to keep their babies after their Ultra sound. The Heart Sail was on display there and they announced that there will be a 40 Days for Life campaign in Muskegon this fall.
March 23, Downtown Grand Rapids, Calder Plaza
Grand Rapids was the site for one of 145 outdoor meetings nationwide regarding religious freedom. 400 people attended in the rain. The "Heart Sail" and the "Cross" were on display, right on government property. I confess to be the one who brought religious items onto government property, and, I promise, I will do it again. WZZM Channel 13 covered the event, as did several radio and news media.
March 15, Baptists for LIFE event at Meijer Gardens, North Grand Rapids
40 Days for Life Board Member Carla Ludwig who is also a board member of Baptist's for Life, arranged for the Heart Sail to be displayed at Meijer Gardens at the dinner-fundraiser March 15. Over 400 were in attendance including many representatives from the legislature. Several South Christian HS students were in attendance and posed with their now famous art work.
March 10, Mens' Conference, IHM Grand Rapids
Art from the ArtPeace Project was on display at the Kepha Men's Conference, Saturday March 10 with 350 in attendance
Feb 15, District Meeting K of C, Rockford
About 50-60 Knights of Columbus were introduced to the ArtPeace Project at Assumption BVM on Feb 15 at an area meeting
Jan 22, Memorial for Unborn, IHM Church, Grand Rapids
Approx. 200 attendees of a multi-faith memorial service for the unborn who have been aborted since the Roe V Wade court decision of 1973 viewed Art from the ArtPeace Project Sunday Jan 22 at IHM, Burton Rd, Grand Rapids.
Jan 22 and 23, St. Isidore Church Grand Rapids
About 150 attended a pro life evening prayer service at St. Isidore, Monday Jan 23 Diamond Ave, Grand Rapids. Church members created over 60 art pieces for the ArtPeace Project
Jan 11, K of C District Meeting, Wyoming
Wednesday January 11, 2012. The Heart Sail and the Cross were on display at the District Meeting K of C, Wyoming Mi where 21 councils/churches were represented and over 60 individuals attended. Most of these were hearing about the ArtPeace Project for the first time.
Jan 6-9, OLC Church and K of C District meeting at OLC Rockford
January 6-8, 2012. The first venue of the ArtPeace Project 2012 is at Our Lady of Consolation Church, Rockford. The display was viewed over the weekend by over 500 church members and was introduced Jan 9 at the District K of C meeting to about 50 attendees representing 20 councils/churches.
Sep 25, 2011, 40 Days for Life kickoff meeting, Grand Valley State University
About 125 attendees viewed The ArtPeace Project that was on display at Grand Valley State University 9-25-11 for the kickoff of 40 Days for Life fall campaign
